Custom pools can add value and elegance to the backyard of your house. These pools are places where you can indulge into multifarious activities like water volleyball, aerobics, family gathering and seek refuge from the stress of daily life. To make sure that the experiences with your custom pool are equally enjoyable in future, it is important to maintain your pool through proper servicing and cleaning. The frequency at which you need to service your pool depends on the usage and the climate. Here is a set of instructions that you can follow for servicing your custom pool.

Skim the visible debris and leaves

A pool skimming net can be used for skimming the leaves and other debris that are visible from the surface of the water. Nets of different types are available for skimming purposes for example the deep skim net or the shallow tight net. You can choose an appropriate net according to the size and shape of your pool.

Clean the surrounding

An environment friendly cleaner can be used preferably for cleaning the entire perimeter of the pool. You can use a scrubber to clean the surrounding along with an extension rod. The tiles on the stairs also need to be scrubbed and you can attach the scrubber on the extension rod for efficient cleaning. You can use a rag along with cleaner for removing the dirt on the bars and poles found around the stair case of the pools. These bars and poles help the swimmers to get in and out of the pool and accumulate a lot of dirt in the process. You can also clean the mobile stairs and floaties before rinsing off the rag so that the finger prints on the stairs can be removed and the growth of algae on the items used in the pool can also be prevented.

Brush the floor of the pool

It is good to brush the floor of custom pools at least two to three times a week depending on the usage. Brushing the floor also restricts the growth of algae and fungi on the pool bed. You can brush the floor with long and smooth strokes for best results. Different kinds of brushes are used by pools of different varieties, for example, the brushes used for concrete pools differ from those used in lined pools.

Vacuum the pool

You can vacuum the pool with the help of vacuum heads- appropriate for the custom pool design you have. You can fill the hose with water to maintain the suction process and attach the pump after that and start off with the cleaning process.

Monitor the PH level

The PH level of your pool should be maintained by using a PH kit. Maintaining the PH level is the best way to prevent algae growth in the pool water. Chlorine tabs and saline can be added to the water as per the rules of your PH kit.

Custom pools involve big investments. Servicing and proper cleaning are keys to the healthy maintenance of your pool. Carelessness with regard to the servicing of pools can make the custom pool run into a mess.
